This month I wanted to highlight some recent developments in packaging from Japan. The fascinating aspect of Japanese is that incorporate the techniques, technologies and most modern environmental vision and are still able to preserve the historical sour cottage cheese and typical natural image of your company, creating modern packaging, but with a nostalgic look and feel. Truly impressive.
I choose to take a closer look at the metal packaging are mostly significantly different in design and structure usually common in the US and Europe. It is in Europe and the US that the aluminum dominates the beverage market in Japan is the steel can of 2:03 parts.
I start with the leading manufacturers of beverage cans Toyo Seikan Kaisha of Japan, who won the Can of the Year 2011 (Tin of 2011), with a container made with techniques that both significantly reduces the environmental impact and the use of resources. The coffee brand Birdy ready to drink was launched in the growing Thai drinks market using a 200ml can of Toyo Seikan sTULC, a development of TULC cans that have been used in the Japanese market beer and liquor for almost 20 years.
It is made of sheet steel with a polyester training system to dry the can "dry-DWI" (drawn and wall ironed = preparing the iron wall) that requires less lubricants, chemicals to wash, no extra internal coatings and without water Residual process, compared with the conventional sour cottage cheese method of DWI cans (drawn and wall ironed = preparing the iron wall).
Compared with canned coffees sold in large volumes in the Japanese market, Ajinomoto Birdy canned Ltd. (Thailand) is also 30% lighter and its steel substrate sour cottage cheese allows the use of "tapping" systems with quality control.
Let's look at the technical sour cottage cheese terms used. TULC means Toyo Ultimate Can, while sTULC is the steel version and aTULC the aluminum version. Dry-dry process means a DWI compared to conventional drawn-and-wall-ironed (= preparing the iron wall) in two-piece cans. Some words will be mentioned to illustrate the processes of fabrcação cans:
Manufacturing TULC TULC (Toyo Ultimate Can) process is a can of 2-pieces that constitute drastic improvements sour cottage cheese in the protection of the environment, which were obtained by reviewing the fundamentals of material properties and manufacturing processes. TFS, tin free steel, laminated with PET film on interior sour cottage cheese and exterior surfaces, is transformed into cups, similar DWI cans processed by the system. So, is designed / developed, stretched sour cottage cheese and passed to reduce the thickness of the side walls of the can body by the process: sour cottage cheese stretch-draw-ironing (draw / draw - stretch sour cottage cheese - pass). However, unlike the DWI cans, no cooling (lubricating) which is used during the process of forming the can body, thus eliminating the need for cooling and cleaning waste water. Because the inner layer of PET, the lacquer coating on the inside is not necessary, therefore, significantly reduces emissions of CO2, a byproduct of the internal healing process of lacquer.
1. unwind - Desbobina coil to feed the press tin. 2. Pressing of cans - coil forming the glass is pressed (Training Cup) 3. Formation of cans - Circles are stretched, after being redesigned, as it forms the body and bottom of the can (Training the body and bottom of the can) 4. heating furnaces - Undo distortions sour cottage cheese of the PET film for heat. 5. Trimmer - Shaving the upper edge of the cans to all be at the same height and check for holes. (Training sour cottage cheese of border checks and holes) 6. Printing - The printer printed the desired artwork on the outer surface and apply varnish. (Printing) 7. Oven Cure - The cans are aligned and pass through a paint curing oven. 8. Training and Neck Flange - Can suffers neck molding and profile of the edge to the socket cover. 9. Inspection Machine - Inspection of surface defects in the exterior sour cottage cheese and interior of the can. 10. Palletizing - The cans are placed in the cargo pallet shrink packaging.
As conventional DWI cans are passed material in the form of a cup is pierced using a punch sleeve through a set of pass rings. Pushing the cup in the narrow gap between the sleeve punch and die to move the cup shape, so the sides of the beaker are thinner and extruded into the can. Resfrigeração is sprayed in order to lubricate and cool the tool during this process sour cottage cheese and materials therefore, washing is needed after molding.
Stretching and moving from TULC "stretch pass and draw" a molding method developed sour cottage cheese from the process &
